Yes — platform sandals usually run small, and SSENUU's are no exception. If you're between sizes or prefer a relaxed fit, order a half to one full size up. That one change fixes the vast majority of fit problems our customers write in about.
Why do platform sandals run small?
Three reasons. First, the thick foam base of a platform doesn't flex the way a thin rubber sole does, so your foot can't "spill over" the edge — the footbed's printed size is the real usable space. Second, slide-style uppers (one or two fixed bands, no buckles) have no adjustment room: if the band sits low on your instep, the sandal effectively shrinks. Third, quilted and padded straps — like the ones on our DZWE Series — take up more volume under the band than a flat strap, which tightens the fit further.
How much should you size up?
Our rule of thumb, printed on every product page:
- Between sizes (e.g. you wear a 7.5): go up to the next full size.
- Wide feet or high instep: go up one full size.
- Standard-width feet that fit true-to-size in sneakers: go up a half size, or a full size if you like a relaxed, slip-on feel.
For reference, sizes 7–8 (EU 38–39) are our most reordered sizes — most customers land there after sizing up.
How should a platform sandal actually fit?
Your heel and toes should both sit fully on the footbed — no toe overhang at the front, no heel off the back edge. The strap should hold your foot without pressing a visible line into your skin. On a correctly fitted platform slide, you should be able to walk downstairs without your foot sliding forward into the band.
What if the size you ordered doesn't fit?
We keep it simple: returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for unworn items in original condition. We don't do direct exchanges — the fastest route to a new size is to return your pair and place a fresh order (orders ship within 1–3 business days, and standard US shipping is free over $30). Details are on our Shipping & Returns page, and you can start a return by emailing brand.info@ssenuu.store.
Quick sizing FAQ
Do all SSENUU sandals run small, or just platforms?
Assume the whole range runs small — platforms, flats and woven styles alike. Size up across the board.
I sized up and the sandal slaps when I walk. Too big?
A slight heel-lift is normal for backless slides. If your toes have more than a thumb's width of space in front, drop back half a size.
Do quilted straps stretch out over time?
They soften slightly with wear but don't meaningfully stretch — don't buy tight expecting break-in.
